Lyric’s HOT TOP 10 for April – from mad hatters tea to human sculptures!
March 26, 2012Lyric Marketing’s Hot Top 10 Picks – it’s a MayFest!
May 10, 2012Hey everyone! Welcome to May and Spring and if you are in Texas, to the brief enjoyment of beautiful, patio weather! I have been super busy again this past month and excited to tell you about some cool things happening at Lyric.
I am so proud to share that Lyric Marketing & Design is celebrating 11 years in business here in DFW! 11 years thanks to many of you, my clients, who have entrusted your marketing and branding to me and the Lyric Marketing team. We are blazing forward and I plan to be around a long time, continuing to serve you with great marketing and progressive opportunities to better expose your business and services to the world! Thank you from my heart! I will have more on our clients and a “honor roll” of the last 11 years next month, so be sure to watch for it.
With plans for “explosion” I have added two new members to the Lyric Marketing team – Scott Kennedy and Gabriela Jones. Scott and “Gabby” will be working as part of my virtual team to fulfill the growing needs of our clients. Welcome aboard you guys!
I have also begun working with Michael and Tina Tannery of Tannery & Company Wealth Management. Michael is kicking my ass as a business coach and Tina backs him up by helping me keep my business in good order. Great company and two wonderful people!
Last month, DTG Magazine and publishing/technology/Internet guru Fred Showker featured me in their annual issue of “Designing Women”. I think I might of won Fred over when he heard me sing as Maddy Rose, I mean really, how many marketing professionals do you know that can sing R&B and the blues like Maddy Rose? Ha! Ok, down from my high horse, I did think it cute when Fred said to me in a Facebook message “Enjoyed the music side more than the art/design side … you’re fabulous!” Fred, I still owe you that CD! I have been following DTG Magazine for years, it was an honor to again be selected for this issue. Thank you Fred for making me look so good! You can check out the feature here.
Sarah and I had the chance to go see Florence + the Machine at the Palladium Ballroom last month as well as attend the Genesis Women’s Shelter annual gala luncheon with Gabby and dear friend and client, Stephanie McAndrew. The featured guest speaker was Colin Powell. He delivered a heart warming and inspiring key note uplifting to women and encouraging to men. It was a true blessing to take part in this event. A special thanks to Steph for making it happen for us! Earlier in the month I also attended the CASA Gala and Auction with Stephanie as the guest of Maylee Thomas who was celebrating her birthday that night. Most of you know of Maylee and George Fuller who are absolutely fabulous musicians, Maylee fronts her own band and can deliver a song like nobody’s business. Be sure to check out her web site and plan to get out to one of her gigs. I feel so blessed to know such giving and real people!
The weather has been fabulous for photoshoots! I have had the opportunity to do several location shoots with some great photographers – working with Justin Goode Photography and Gwen Guess Photography and stylist extraordinaire Heather Kitsoulis. We have shot all over the city, but my favorite place is the little nook behind the Winspear Opera House, almost feel like I’m doing something I’m not suppose to do…hummm! Got some fabulous shots though!
The month would not have been complete without seeing my son Joshua, so another trip down south was in order. This time to San Marcos to hang out with Josh and April and my grand dogs, Veda and Brodie. Josh is an amazing musician himself. I haven’t been able to talk him into playing with Sarah and I yet (and distance is a bit of a problem), but it is a dream that I hope someday will happen. He has a real indy style, and a rich natural voice. It is always a joy to visit him and hang out while he plays his guitar and sings for me. I also got to hangout with my NYC family recently. Melissa and the new princess Sophie came to Dallas to visit Aunt Sandy! We have had a wonderful time.
It has been a whirlwind, but all good. Now, for some exciting news….we are starting rehearsals for Maddy Rose next month! I am so excited! It has been way too long so we are getting the players together and will be fine tuning our show and start booking this summer – stay tuned!
Love and Peace!
Sandy
