June 2 through June 14, 2014
#9 – Richard Phillips: Negation of the Universe. There is always a fun party awaiting at the Dallas Contemporary. Richard Phillips: Negation of the Universe
#8 – Till Midnight at the Nasher – sounds like a fun, artsy-romantic party. Throw your picnic blanket in the car and head to the Arts District Friday June 20 to enjoy complimentary admission to the Nasher, live outdoor concert with Larry G(ee), followed by a showing of the Way Way Back (PG-13). Attendees can reserve a fried chicken picnic for two catered by Wolfgang Puck or grab ‘n go grub from the Nasher Café. Till Midnight at the Nasher

#6 – Redenta’s Potting Bar Happy Hour. This sounds like so much fun, I love to indulge my green thumb, and why not with a crafted beer? You might certainly catch me out at this event! Organic nursery Redenta’s Garden hosts happy hour every third Thursday of the month. Local craft beer, cider, and snacks are there for consumption while you choose a plant and its vessel to be potted by a host. Super cool. June 19 at 4pm. Redenta’s Potting Bar
#5 – George Strait’s farewell tour. He is THE icon of country-western music, and I love him! George Strait will be performing with Alan Jackson, Kenney Chesney, and Faith Hill at AT&T Stadium on June 7 on his farewell tour, maybe it’s not too late to grab some tickets and see the legend. George Strait – The Cowboy Rides Away
#4 – You know now I LOVE jewelry, so I am excited to feature “From the Village to Vogue: The Modernist Jewelry of Art Smith” at the Dallas Museum of Art June 15 through December 7, 2014. I will definitely be going to see this and grab some inspiration for my own pieces! DMA – From Village to Vogue
#3 – Charcuterie and Cheese a class you can take dad too! June 12, 2014 at Scardello Cheese. I chose this because our dads like nothing better than meat and potatoes, so bond with your pops at this Father’s Day class, and teach him a thing or two about the cured kinds of meats, from salami to prosciutto. Charcuterie and Cheese
#2 – In honor of our fathers, “shave” the date June 14 at 7:45am for this Father’s Day race. Wear a mustache, bring your old man, and run your buns off. There will be a kid’s fun run and a 5K for all, starting at Richardson’s Galatyn Park. Proceeds go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which gives scholarships to children of fallen soldiers. MUST-DASH 5K
#1 – Your local farmer’s market! Yep, that’s right, I am touting the many local county farmer’s markets around the Metroplex. What better place to be on a Saturday morning to gather fresh and healthy fare to put on the grill. June is the grill season here in Dallas, so get out and get fresh – support your farmer’s market!
