December 3, 2013Lyric Marketing’s December Must Not Miss List
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I am so pumped! I love this time of year and all the seasonal festivity, joy and focus on family, love and giving. I hope that you are starting your holiday season out with the same enthusiasm, not only for the opportunities to celebrate love, but also for the potential for your business in 2014. This is a great time to regroup, redesign, take a relaxing breath and create a new strategy to set you on your way. I am doing just that.
I spent the last few days with mom and dad for Thanksgiving. The entire family was gathered (except for my son who was moving to SLC), it was the best of times. I am so thankful for the love and the closeness our family shares. We had a feast of food and fellowship with over 50 family members traveling from Utah, New York, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas to be together. Rich!
Today, I want to say a heartfelt “thank you” to each of you who have supported Lyric Marketing, read my blog posts and emails, and have basically become a part of my business family. I pray that 2014 will bring a wealth of prosperity, good health, joy and love to you and your business! I am working on a couple of new programs that I will be announcing in the next few weeks, so stay tuned. PLUS the 52 weeks of marketing tips will be released as an ebook toward the end of the month – so stay tuned.
I am calling this month’s Hot 10 List the MUST NOT MISS list. Every event is something I would like to attend myself! There is so much going on in this great city of ours this month, I hope to see you out and about spreading the holiday cheer at one or more of them!
Warmest wishes for a blessed holiday season, love and hugs,
Sandy

This annual holiday tradition starts the season off right. Join a crowd of thousands to see a procession of floats, dancers, marching bands, and other performers make its way through the streets of downtown. December 11-22 at various times: Porgy and Bess – Winspear Opera House – 214-880-0202 – http://www.attpac.org. George and Ira Gershwin premiered this sprawling opera, based on the novel and subsequent play by DuBose Heyward, in 1935. It was ambitious, clocking in at four hours and blending several different musical styles. The original, rarely produced in full, was richly detailed and inventive. It was also tough to sell. This new adaptation, which won several Tony Awards, was stripped down to its essentials by playwright Suzan Lori-Parks, composer Diedre L. Murray, and director Diane Paulus. The action centers around the fictional Catfish Row, a tenement house inhabited by freed slaves in 1920s Charleston, South Carolina, where the down-on-her-luck Bess takes up with the crippled beggar Porgy despite varying impending disasters.

The performance, an interpretation of the Biblical story of Jesus’ birth with an all-black cast, consists of spoken word, pantomime, gospel songs, and folk spirituals.

There will be food, cocktails, and plenty of seasonal cheer.
December 3-24 at various times: A Christmas Carol – Wyly Theatre – 214-880-0202 – http://www.attpac.org. Charles Dickens’ classic tale of greed and redemption graces the stage every year courtesy of the Dallas Theater Center, but this is the first time the DTC will present a completely new version inside the Wyly Theatre, complete with flying advice-giving ghosts and special effects to mimic the soft fall of snow. Directed by Kevin Moriarty and choreographed by Joel Ferrell, the cast will regale us with the story of how old Ebenezer Scrooge’s heart of stone softens as he’s offered a look at his past, present, and future.
